The Rubber Men (Iuvantis sentius) are one of the many sapient species under the name of Unman. They are large cephalopod mollusc and are the only known species under the Iuvantis genus. They are characterized by their ability to ability to function on land and their erect posture and bipedal locomotion while on land, manual dexterity and tool use.
Despite possessing intelligence comparable to elves and humans, they refuse to integrate into greater society and remain extremely hostile to all non-cephalopods. All attempts to make peace with cephalopod tribes have ended in complete failure, often with the expeditionary crew captured and ritually consumed.
Due to the dangers they pose to fishing villages and harbor towns, local governments will often encourage the destruction of cephalopod encampments and their nests.
The Rubber Men are religious folk who worship Glugmowr, The Deep Sea Emperor, a legendary creature they believe created their species. Due to its aggression in legends, the Rubber Men follow suit to capture and consume humans, dwarves and elves in it's name.
