What You Need to Know:
The youngest of the three primary humanoid races, humans have existed in the world of Libertas for roughly one millennium. The actual appearance of man is a mystery to the other, older races. As such, they're considered a mistake by many, or unnatural, forced to the barren north of the lands, scraping by and living off of raiding, mineral resources, and trade. Man is also, ironically, the most politically charged and unstable of the races. The variety of human kingdoms is much healthier, more varied, and also more aggressive. This excludes the kingdoms of Shiramato and Synna-Sakura, which rest on the now plague stricken former continent of North-East, but we'll get into that later, and why it may be the home all of humans. For now, you need to know the basic human kingdoms and regions: The Confederacy of Vangar and the Northmen Confederacy, always at odds and extremely viking-esque, East, West, and Southern Lothar, barren and cold warring slave-states, the merchant state of Syanna-Sakura, the feudal and rigorous class-based state of Shiramato, and the Khazad'dun Steppes, home to a mix a warring tribal groups and barbarians constantly invading the Valar Kingdom of Ea to the East. Each has a unique culture and peoples, but each has it's own differing goals.

Humans Themselves:
Humans are fairly simple creatures. They can live up to eighty years on record, although the conditions of Libertas often cut that short to about fifty years for most humans. They decently adept at both combat and magic, although like the dwarves, they favor melee combat to magic a vast majority of the time. They could technically be considered the least technologically advanced of the races, although their rapid growth in recent years has made it clear that they can and will take measures to remedy that.

Why's The Plague So Damn Important?:
It's not know when, but a long time ago, a great plague swept across the North-East continent, wiping out ludicrous numbers of humans and wildlife alike. It's presumed that to adapt, man sailed across the seas to the Central continent, ending up where they are now. However mostly out of sight and mind, the plague still exists... Magic users in particular are vulnerable to it, as they have weakened immune systems. As such, amongst several human nations and regions, magic has become a sort of taboo. Those living still living on the North-East continent have found ways to adapt and survive despite the plague, adapting as traders and harsh class-based societies.
The important thing to note here is that the other races see the plague as punishment from the Agents of the divine for man's hubris, often citing them as a wicked and evil race. Whether or not this is true remains to be seen.
